WILTON — Four area churches will again host an ecumenical service to close out the Wilton Blueberry Festival. The 9 a.m. service will be held at Bass Park with Wilton Congregational Church as the location should it rain.
Bass Park overlooks the foot of Wilson Lake and the western Maine mountains making it an ideal location for worship. The theme of the service this year is “What Positive Things are Happening in Your Church” and everyone is invited to attend. There are a few picnic tables available but bringing chairs is encouraged.
Communion will be served.
Dryden Baptist, St. Luke’s Episcopal, Wilton Congregational and Wilton Methodist have held the combined service for years, usually at one of those churches. Two years ago no service was held because of the coronavirus pandemic and last year it was held at Bass Park to allow more space for social distancing.
The ecumenical service is a way to recognize the hard work and dedication put forth to make the Wilton Blueberry Festival a success and draws the community together once more to complete the weekend.
