DEAR SUN SPOTS: On Tuesday, July 12, a red truck with an attached trailer containing power equipment passed our house on Sunset Street, headed to South Avenue in Lewiston. After hitting a bump, a parts and operational manual, and a small part for a Craftsman wheeled weed trimmer fell out. This has been placed by the side of the street hanging on a reflector in a plastic bag.  If it is yours, please swing by and pick it up. — Pat, Lewiston

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I was at Hannaford supermarket July 7 picking up some groceries and as I approached the cashier, the gentleman in front of me (who was a Vietnam veteran) told the cashier to include my groceries with his as well as the lady behind me.

In a state of shock I told him he didn’t have to do that, but he insisted. I thanked him so much for his kindness. Nothing like this has ever happened to me. I got in my car and cried thinking, “What a wonderful man. Thank you again, sir, from the bottom of my heart. God will bless you for your kindness, and I thank you for your service. There are still wonderful people in this world and I wish him the best. — Doris, no town
