AREA — Seniors interested in learning more about the Senior College Players and the possibility of joining the troop are invited to attend a meeting to be held on Thursday, August 18, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the home of Jack Kuchta, 2203 Main Street, Hanover.

New faces and veteran thespians alike have been meeting monthly during spring and summer to review scripts to consider for their fall performance, held the weekend of November 18-20. Of special interest is a follow-up play to “The Pie Ladies,” a delightful comedy presented three years ago. Entitled, “The Pie Ladies Make Bail,” the ladies are involved in another rocking comedy. This play will be included in the fall performance along with a selection of short one-act plays.

Ray Leghart, facilitator, stresses that experience is not needed, just an interest in joining for the fun of performing for friends and neighbors. “What makes Senior Players theater different from regular theater groups, is that they carry their scripts with them. Memorizing is not necessary,” he added.

Senior College Players is a course offered by Western Mountains Senior College and seniors, ages 50 and over, may join. Interested persons under age 50 may join as associate members.

For more information or to reserve a spot at the August 18 meeting, call Jack Kuchta at 207-364-3137.
