DEAR SUN SPOTS: I am a crafter and looking to sign up for craft fairs that will be held in the Androscoggin County area. I have not seen any published anywhere and do not know where to search for them. If any of your readers or organizations know of any, they can reach me at 577-7424. — No name, Lewiston

ANSWER: I’m not sure what types of fairs you want to participate in, but check in with your local churches, libraries, historical societies, Grange halls and organizers of county fairs to see if there are any events coming up. Fall is a big time to hold these fundraisers.

I did find these listings: Sept. 7, 11 a.m., Ricker Hill Orchards – 9th Annual Artisan Fair in Turner; Sept. 24, 11 a.m., Wallingford’s Fruit House – 9th Annual Artisan Fair in Auburn; Oct. 1, 11 a.m., Boothby’s Farm Market 2022-2nd Annual Artisan Fair in Livermore; Oct 15-16, 11 a.m., Thompson’s Orchard- 2nd Annual Artisan Fair in New Gloucester. DEAR SUN SPOTS: If anyone in Sun Spots Land is interested in getting their veteran’s name on a memorial stone at Veterans Memorial Park at the corner of Main and Lincoln Streets in Lewiston, the deadline of Sept. 15 is coming up for the Veterans’ Day unveiling and program.

For information, go to the cities’ websites at www.lewistonmaine.gov  or www.auburnmaine.gov. Type Veterans Memorial Park into the search bar on the right and the information you need will pop up, or you can call Jerry Dewitt at 576-0376 or send an email to jdewitt@tcmhs.org. He oversees the names on the memorial stones.

You can also contact Brandon Pelletier, the council’s treasurer, who handles the applications and checks. You can call him at 713-5589.

Your veteran must be presently serving, retired or passed on, and honorably discharged from one of the branches of the United States military, including the Reserves or National Guard, Merchant Marine, or any other branches of the military. A copy of any DD214, 215, 217-MC , WD AGO 53-55, or a photo in uniform is to be attached to the application. The cost for the engraving is $35. — Jerry, Lewiston
