Lisbon United Methodist Church seeks runners and walkers to support its sixth annual Neighbors Helping Neighbors 5K Run/Walk, set for Saturday, Sept. 10, at 14 School St. in Lisbon Falls.

All proceeds will be donated to Tedford Shelter’s “Warm Thy Neighbor” heating fuel assistance program. The family friendly event has grown each year and raised more than $10,000 to help neighbors in need, according to a news release from Monica McCusker, NHN 5K team leader.

Check-in/same-day registration for the timed event begins at 7:30 a.m; the race starts at 8:30 a.m. Registration is open, and all registrants entered by Thursday, Sept. 1 will receive an event T-shirt at check-in. After that date, shirts will be mailed or delivered to the participant.

The entry fee cost is $25 for adults, $15 for students and free for children younger than 10. It is payable by check, cash or online at lisbonumchurch.org.

The benefit event is open to all ages. It will take place rain or shine.

Volunteers are needed. For more information, to contact organizers, and find registration forms and race information, visit the church’s website or email neighborshelpingneighbors5k@yahoo.com.
