STRATTON — The Dead River Area Historical Society’s 2023 pictorial calendars are available.

The cover features kindergarten and first grade from 1955 with Jimmy Sylvester, Susan Simpson, Edwin Hewitt, Sandra Fotter, Marcel Dube, Ina Harris, Richard Currie, Terry Wyman, Marcel Nadeau, Linda Vaughn, Raymond Morin, Margaret Hewitt, Dennis Walton, Cecil Brackett, Wayne Dyer, Candy Stevens, Morris Henderson, Fernande Dube, Montford Tasker, Norma Caldwell and Linda Stevens.

Each month features a photo from the past. January shows the boys basketball team, Stratton High School, 1927; February features Percival Baxer amd Almon Taylor; March is the editorial board of the 1927 edition of The Pinetum, the Stratton High yearbook; April is the Stratton High School class of 1967’s trip to Washington, DC; May is the post office at Tim Pond, Mr. and Mrs Julian K. Viles, 1906; June is at Cold Springs in Eustis, hand-dated 1925; July features T Pond and Flagstaff Mountain in 1906; August is Old Home Day, Aug. 16, 1953; September shows Main Street, Eustis, postmarked 1914; October is Flagstaff, postmarked 1912; November shows Schoolhouses in Stratton; and December features Daisy Leavitt with Tom MacDonald.

The back page of the calendar features a paragraph about each photograph.

The calendars can be purchased at Pine’s Market, at 975 The Arnold Trail in Eustis; Fotter’s Market, at 157 Main St., Stratton; and T & L Enterprisees, at 141 Main St., in Stratton.

People can also mail a request and check for $12, $10 for the calendar and $2 for postage, to Dead River Area Historical Society, P.O. Box 15, Stratton, ME 04982.

Cookbooks also are available for $6 each, or two for $10.
