I have known Ed Rabasco for over 12 years. I have worked with him on the RSU 16 School Board (Poland, Mechanic Falls and Minot). He’s a leader on our board.

Other members look to him for guidance. He is committed to the education of our young people. We are lucky to have him.

That same commitment applies to his approach to our criminal justice system. He is a very experienced local attorney. Many of the ways we treat criminal defendants in our system only causes them to commit more crimes. These crimes include repeated domestic violence.

Our system doesn’t do all it can to prevent crime in the first place. Many people are charged with the same crimes repeatedly. That is a clear indication that something is wrong with our approach.

Spending millions of dollars building more prisons is not the answer. I hope voters support Ed Rabasco for district attorney.
