WAYNE — A Winthrop man was seriously injured Thursday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash off Old Winthrop Road, police said.
Kenneth Buck, 41, was taken by a LifeFlight of Maine helicopter to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston after his 2008 Chevrolet pickup truck went off the road as he was traveling westbound and hit a tree, according to Shannon Moss, spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety.
Buck’s condition was not known Thursday afternoon.
Police and other emergency workers were called just after 1 p.m. to the area near 382 Old Winthrop Road.
The Winthrop Fire Department, Winthrop Police Department, Wayne Volunteer Fire Department, Readfield Fire Department and two Maine state troopers arrived to help remove Buck from the pickup truck, which was badly damaged on one side, according to a member of the Wayne Volunteer Fire Department.
Emergency workers were at the scene for about two hours.
The cause of the crash had not been determined Thursday afternoon, Moss said, and an investigation was ongoing.
