The city of Lewiston seeks a Christmas tree, to be decorated with holiday lights at Dufresne Plaza, 72 Lisbon St.

City Arborist Steve Murch suggests the tree be approximately 30 feet tall and preferably Spruce, according to a news release from Dottie Perham-Whittier, community relations coordinator.

The selected tree must be in an easy access area for a truck/equipment to remove the tree for transport, and the owner of the selected tree will be contacted.

The city’s official Christmas tree will remain illuminated until the end of January.

“This Christmas tree will be the perfect backdrop for families and friends to snap that holiday photo,” said Mayor Carl Sheline. “I’m looking forward to Lewiston’s holiday celebration this year and coming together as a city.”

Murch encourages Lewiston residents interested in donating a tree to contact him at smurch@lewistonmaine.gov or 207-513-3003, ext. 3443.
