BUCKFIELD — The Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of a fire that destroyed a home Monday evening on Turner Street.

The 2½-story wood structure was fully involved when firefighters arrived on the scene at 60 Turner St. at approximately 11 p.m. Firefighters had to return to the scene at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday after the fire rekindled.

The home was reportedly vacant and was being renovated. There were no reports of injuries.

Hebron, Norway, Paris, Sumner and Turner fire departments provided the Buckfield Fire Department with assistance.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
