Winthrop Maine Historical Society is planning many November and December events.

The Winthrop History and Heritage Center at 107 Main St. will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Fridays with free gift wrapping for Gift Shop purchases. Gift wrapping for outside purchases will be available 4-7 p.m. Fridays for a donation to the society, according to a news release from Mary Richards, society member.

On Saturday, Dec. 3, the society plans to participate in the annual Winthrop Holiday Parade starting at 3:30 p.m. After the parade, bring a camera, family and friends to the center to take a picture with Santa until 6 p.m.; donations will be appreciated.

On Saturday, Dec. 10, the society will offer a program called Christmas Through the Ages. This is a ticketed event with limited tickets available. The cost is $10. The tour will include visiting five different locations close to the center to learn about what life was like during the Moravian, Colonial, Victorian, Wartime 1940’s and the Postwar 1950’s Ages.

Homemade cookies and goodies can be purchased during a Cookie Walk set for 3-7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at the center.

Gentleman’s Night in the Gift Shop will take place from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 23. Stop in and shop at the last minute for those special folks.

All events are sponsored by the Winthrop Maine Historical Society and all proceeds go to support the activities at the Winthrop History and Heritage Center.
