The city of Lewiston has rescheduled its Holiday at the Plaza. It will be held from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, at Dufresne Plaza, 72 Lisbon St.

“The holidays in Lewiston are a special time of year. The lights, music, and community I feel during the season remind me how grateful I am to call Lewiston home,” said Mayor Carl Sheline, according to a news release from Dottie Perham-Whittier, from Lewiston’s communications office. “Having everyone together for the holidays feels extra special now that we can celebrate safely in person.”

To accommodate the festivities, Lisbon Street will be closed from Ash to Main street.

The lighting of the Christmas Tree and Menorah is set for 4:30 p.m.; the ice rink will be open for those who bring skates; the handcrafted artisanal market and local Lisbon Street businesses will be open; a giant snow globe, Santa and live reindeer will be on site; and horse-driven wagon rides also will be available.

Professional ice carvers will create an ice sculpture, and holiday musical performances will be held. The Lewiston Recreation Department will host reindeer games, and children can write letters to Santa take home holiday crafts.

Food trucks and local restaurants will sell food, and those who attend can keep warm near fire pits.
