Phyllis Katherine Lloyd Demers Bryant

WESTBROOK – Phyllis Katherine Lloyd Demers Bryant, formerly of Chisholm and Livermore, died at the age of 96 on Dec. 2, 2022. Phyllis was born in Waterville on Sept. 21,1926 to Edward Lloyd and Beatrice (Moreau) Lloyd.

Phyllis attended Wilton Grammar School and two years at Wilton Academy. She graduated from Lawrence High School in Fairfield, Maine. While in high school, Phyllis played basketball and tennis.

After graduating from high school, Phyllis went to Augusta for job training with the intention of going to DC to help in the World War II effort. Instead, she became engaged to Willie Demers and they were married upon his return from the service in the Marines. They were married in 1946 and lived in Chisholm, Maine where Phyllis assisted Willie with his TV Sales and Service business until Willie died suddenly of a heart attack in 1974. In 1980, Phyllis married Robert Bryant and they were lovingly married for almost 40 years. They lived on Brettuns Pond in Livermore, Maine and also spent time in Gulfport, Fl at Beachway Mobile Park until Bob’s death in 2019.

Phyllis was a loving, caring and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Phyllis loved to play cards and enjoyed walking, bingo and dancing. To everyone who knew her, Phyllis was cordial, social and much loved. She was a great cook and enjoyed baking for family and friends.

Phyllis was predeceased by her mother and father; sister Mary; husbands Willie Demers and Robert Bryant; and son Rodney Demers. She is survived by her son George Demers and wife Carla, daughter Katherine and husband Dave; grandchildren Kara Wilbur and husband Mike Bensen, Derek Demers and wife Vicki, Josh Wilbur and wife Kristy, and Ian Demers and wife Mary Kate;, great grandchildren Elizabeth, Oliver, Marshall, Luke, Finley, Henry and Milo; along with many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Dec. 13 at 5:15 pm at Finley Funeral Home, 15 Church Street, Livermore Falls, Maine. Visiting hours will be 4:00 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. prior to the service.
