100 Years Ago: 1922

The Ladies’ Aid of the M.E. Church will hold their annual Christmas sale at the grange hall Friday evening with the usual fine display of fancy articles, fruits, vegetables, candles, and pop corn balls on sale. A supper will be served to the public from six to eight o’clock.

50 Years Ago: 1972

Abigail Circle of the Woman’s Society of Christian Service of the Auburn United Methodist Church met this week at the home of Mrs. Clifford Shattuck, 254 Summer St., Auburn, with 20 members in attendance. It was voted to meet at Happy Jack’s Restaurant on Dec 12, and then to adjourn to the home of Mrs. Ronald Logan for an exchange of Christmas gifts. It was also voted to help two families for the group’s Christmas project. During the meeting a scotch auction was held.

25 Years Ago: 1997

A Beanie Baby Swap and Sell will be held from 9 am to 3 pm Sunday at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 807 Middle Street, sponsored by the the Harbor Children’s Center of Boothbay Harbor. Admission is $1 a person and children are free. All proceeds will benefit the center.
