Feztival of Trees

LOCKE’S MILLS — Jackson-Silver Post Past Commander Kelly Bickford has advocated for a family-oriented event, especially for children, to be held at the Post for many years. Wishes do come true. The American Legion Post, located in Oxford County at centrally located 595 Gore Road, just off Route 26, in Lockes Mills, is co-hosting with Oxford County Kora Shrine Club, the Kora Feztival of Trees to held from 16:00 hours (4 p.m.) to 20:00 hours (8 p.m.), on Friday, December 9, continuing Saturday, December 10, from 08:00 hours to 20:00 hours (8 a.m. to 8 p.m.), and ending on Sunday, from 08:00 hours to 12:00 hours (noon), on December 12.

Santa and Mrs. Claus are looking forward to receiving letters from children with their full names and addresses, all of which they will subsequently answer. Take selfies with the world famed Christmas couple. For $2 per child, a table for writing letters to Santa, and making a Christmas ornament and coloring a Christmas picture, will be set up, modeled on Santa’s Workshop.

The trees, donated by local businesses and organizations and loaded with valuable items, will be raffled, with the drawing to be held at 13:00 hours (1 p.m.) on Sunday.

Food prepared by the incomparable Auxiliary Unit 68 kitchen staff will be for sale in the Great Hall. Plenty of free parking. Let the elf in one and all reacquaint themselves with the North Pole’s most distinguished couple.
