Happy New Year! Fern here. I came to the shelter last April, and then I was adopted for a few months. During that time we all discovered that I do not care for tiny humans so now I’m back at the shelter. Big and medium humans are ok, I just don’t care for the tiny ones. The folks here at the shelter have been talking about New Year’s resolutions and it inspired me to come up with my own list. I’m a young girl and I feel there’s always room for self improvement. So here is my own list of resolutions:
1. Get more snuggles. Especially on cold, winter days.
2. Avoid the urge to knock things off the table. OK, at least breakable things.
3. Figure out a way to get a second breakfast.
4. Purr more.
5. Play more. By myself or with others. I do like other cats.
6. Take more naps.
7. Make more biscuits.
8. Destroy the vacuum monster.
9. Finally kick the catnip habit.
10. The most important one – find my forever home.

Responsible Pet Care of Oxford Hills is a no-kill, non-profit shelter and adoption center for cats and dogs, and the holding area for stray dogs for 12 towns in Oxford County. The shelter is located at 9 Swallow Road in South Paris, and is open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday noon to 4 p.m. (Other days by appointment).
Responsible Pet Care operates a thrift shop called Pawsibilities. It is located at 132 Waterford Road in Norway and is open Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All the money raised at Pawsibilities supports RPC.
