Lewiston playwright Paul Baribault has released “Comedy & Grace,” a sequel to his first non-fiction work, “Our Brilliant Eternity.” Following on his first book’s themes, this book further explores the “what if” of things, of our lives here on Earth and what awaits us beyond it.

Through its touching and often comic retellings early in the book, like “The Christmas Canteen,” “Invention of the Thin Crust Pizza” and “Three Corvettes,” to outright fables like “Twins Separated at Birth” and “Space Odyssey, 2021,” it’s clear the writer’s intent is to warm up his readers with smiles and laughter before the more serious Grace portion of the book begins – with its polished sonnets and the closing Inspired Writings, which the back cover testimonial describes as coming from “the soul-resting whispers of Eternal Mind.” One thing throughout is evident: the writer’s hope is to entertain, engage and inform us about who we are in Eternity – that we are brothers and sisters on a consciousness and soul-expanding journey, back to our true Home.

In September, Baribault also made his short story debut, in the latest issue of the “Chicken Soup for the Soul” series titled, “Mysteries and the Unexplainable,” with the submission title “Midnight Rider.”
