
Fernande (Rivard) Ronan
LEWISTON – Fernande (Rivard) Ronan, 91, of Lewiston, passed away peacefully Thursday, Jan. 26, 2023, at Androscoggin Hospice.
She was born in Lewiston on May 14, 1931, the daughter of Raoul and Gertrude (Gagne) Rivard and was educated in the Lewiston school system.
She was a member and past president of Les Montagnard Snowshoe Club, officer of the Passe Temps, founder and past president of the Franco American War Veterans Ladies Auxiliary Post #31, past president of the American Snowshoe Union, and member of Covenant 50, Lewiston Senior Citizens and Horizon 55.
She enjoyed traveling, playing Bingo and was an avid reader. She retired in 1993 from Country Kitchen Bakery.
She is survived by three sons, Raymond A. Ronan of Gorham, Michael P. Ronan of Virginia Beach, Va., Timothy Ronan of Lewiston, and one daughter, Debra Boucher of Litchfield. She is also survived by the “light of her life” granddaughter, Danielle W. Leeman; along with one sister, Jeanne (Pittman) Leggett of Arkansas; and many nieces/nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her infant daughter, Kathleen Faye Ronan, (1958); Raoul and Gertrude Rivard, mother (1961) and father (1986); brothers Romeo Rivard (2002), Armand Rivard (2005) and sister, Rita Leblanc (2009).
The family would like to thank Clover Health Care and Androscoggin Hospice House for their care.
A Mass of Christian Burial honoring Fernande’s life will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday Feb. 3 at the Basilica of Sts. Peter and Paul. Committal prayers to follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to visit Thursday Feb. 2 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Pinette Dillingham and Lynch Funeral Home, 305 Alfred Plourde Parkway, Lewiston.
