Wayne R. Autry

TURNER – Wayne R. Autry, 76, of Turner, passed away Sunday, Jan. 22, 2023, at Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn.

Wayne graduated from Monmouth Academy, class of 1967 and joined the Army to serve his country. Wayne did two tours in Vietnam serving in the Civil Engineering Division building bridges.

Upon his return he worked in carpentry and was the bookkeeper at Decoster Egg Farm for many years.

He was an avid coin collector, enjoyed hunting and loved nature and animals.

He was born on Oct. 21, 1946, to parents Henry and Lottie Autry, of Leeds. Wayne was married to Anita Autry for 40 years and they were longtime residents of Turner. They loved the sense of community in their hometown where neighbor took care of neighbor and people knew each other by name and genuinely cared for each other. Special thank you to neighbors Kenny and Charlene Russell for their friendship and caring nature.

He is survived by sister, Martha Bania, brother, Richard Autry; daughter Tami Palsrok of Florida and her wife, Connie Palsrok and daughters, Addision and Kallianne Palsrok; stepchildren Linda Hilts of Greene, Janet Labbe of Lewiston, Sally Laliberte of Lewiston, and John Laliberte of Lisbon. Wayne also had several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
