RUMFORD — Madi Dow’s double-double paced Mountain Valley to a 48-31 girls basketball victory over Boothbay on Monday.

Dow scored 16 points and pulled down 10 rebounds. Brooke Bennett contributed eight points and six steals to the victory. Emma Clukey and Alyvia Theriault scored seven apiece for the Falcons (7-7), and Layce Boucher scored six.

Kathryn Hibbard’s 13 points led (2-12), while Sophie White finished with eight.

OAK HILL 42, MT. ABRAM 37: Ariana Thibeault’s big third quarter was the catalyst for the Raiders (7-7) overcoming an eight-point halftime deficit and defeating the Roadrunners (5-8) in Salem Township.

Thibeault scored 13 of Oak Hill’s 15 third-quarter points, and the Raiders went from trailing 26-18 at half to leading 33-32 heading into the fourth.

Thibeault finished with a game-high 24 points. Peyton Gonya added eight points, including two 3-pointers, and Aubrey McElhaney had six for the Raiders.

Abi Wilcox led Mt. Abram with nine points, and Jenna Osgood scored eight.

BOYS BASKETBALL
CARRABEC 69, TELSTAR 23: Luke Carey led the Cobras (8-6) with 22 points in their win over the Rebels (1-11) in Bethel.

Carey made three 3-pointers. Joel Gehrke also had a big game, scoring 18 points for Carrabec.

Wyatt Lilly led Telstar with 10 points.

BOYS HOCKEY
ST. DOMINIC 5, BIDDEFORD/MASSABESIC/OLD ORCHARD 2: Miles Frenette scored twice and assisted on another goal (6-7) for the Saints in a win over the Tigers (3-7-1) at Biddeford Ice Arena in Biddeford.

Erik Jones added a goal and two assists for St. Dom’s, while Ben Dumais and Ridge Dionne each contributed a goal and an assist, and Spencer Morgan had two assists.

Collin Scully and Jamie Sperlich scored for the Tigers. Caden Petit assisted on both goals.

MARSHWOOD/TRAIP/SANFORD/NOBLE 3, MT. ARARAT/LISBON/MORSE 2: Zac Camp had a goal and an assist in the Knighthawks’ (8-2) win against the Eagles (1-10) at The Colisee in Lewiston.

Ayden Lockard and Danny Fuller also scored for Marshwood/Traip/Sanford/Noble. Goalie Connor Lentz stopped 21 shots.

Gerek Theriault and Caleb MacDonald scored for Mt. Ararat/Lisbon/Morse, and Zander Kirk had an assist. Sam Young stopped 32 shots in net.

GIRLS HOCKEY
MT. ARARAT/LISBON/MORSE/LINCOLN/OCEANSIDE/BOOTHBAY 2, YARMOUTH/FREEPORT 0: Mallory Stuart scored both goals for the Eagles (10-7) against Yarmouth/Freeport (13-2-1) at Travis Roy Arena in Yarmouth.

Stuart scored off an assist from Hannah Hawkes in the second period, and then netted an unassisted goal in the third.

Emma Morrison stopped 30 shots for the Eagles, while Ava Gervais made seven saves for Yarmouth/Freeport.

BOYS PREP HOCKEY
NYA 5, HEBRON 2: Former Lewiston High School players Daxton St. Hilaire and Nick Pelletier each tallied a goal and an assist in the Panthers’ win over the Lumberjacks in Hebron.

Lewiston’s Connor Wolverton set up St. Hilaire’s second-period goal, one of three power-play tallies for North Yarmouth Academy. St. Hilaire and Zach Stabb earned assists on Pelletier’s goal in the third.

Grey Perham, Dante Ersoni and Gabriel Leclerc also scored for NYA. Cooper St. Hilaire, another former Lewiston player, Louka Vamvakas, Brayden Warde and Cole Lambert each contributed an assist.

Warde and Lambert, both from Yarmouth, were “instrumental in the win with their hustle and great energy,” Panthers coach Mike Warde said.

The Panthers outshot the Lumberjacks 61-25. NYA goalie Euan Martin made 23 saves. Hebron’s Julian Karagiannis was busy in net, stopping 56 shots.

Ryan Teehan assisted on both of the Lumberjacks’ goals, which were scored by Liam Curran and Cullen Lacey. Anthony Defilio also assisted on Lacey’s goal.
