Northeast Generals’ Jake LaRusso pulled away from the pack of highest goal scorers in the North American Hockey League on Monday, scoring all four goals in the Generals’ 4-1 victory over the Maine Nordiques at the New England Sports Village in Attleboro, Massachusetts.

Coming into Monday’s game against the Maine Nordiques, LaRusso was in a three-way tie for most goals in the NAHL, 23, with Christian Catalano of the Maryland Black Bears and William Howard of the New Mexico Wolves.

Following Monday’s win, the 20-year-old LaRusso now has 27 goals and 19 assists in 36 games.

LaRusso scored the four goals early, all coming on power plays in the first period to give Northeast a 4-0 advantage.

The Generals were 4 for 6 on the power play in the game, while the Nordiques went scoreless on five chances.

After the fourth goal, Tommy Heaney’s night in the Nordiques’ crease ended. He stopped 11 of 15 shots. His replacement, Kael DePape, stopped all 21 shots he faced.
