Do you know someone over 60 who occasionally faces challenges but has trouble asking for help? We like to think that ours is a very caring community, and people are eager to support their friends and neighbors. Is there someone you could check on and help in some way? Would you like to help AFCI expand our capacity? Just give us a call.

Ways that the Age-Friendly Community Initiative can help: through our N2N (Neighbor to Neighbor) Rides program, volunteer drivers can take folks to the movies, shopping, to visit friends, to medical appointments, etc.
An AFCI team can deliver sand to homes.
An Occupational Therapist can come and assess a home – and the resident – and offer advice on improving potentially dangerous conditions – free.
In other seasons, AFCI’s Handy Neighbor can come and help with outdoor chores. Not so, unfortunately, in the winter – but take a look at Team Bethel for those in the community who are in the business of providing services like plowing, shoveling, and the like (https://www.facebook.com/groups/TeamBethel.).

Loneliness and feelings of isolation are often an issue with older adults – but in this community, that doesn’t have to be the case. There are plenty of activities and events listed below, and our N2N drivers can get people there; call the service number below.
