NORWAY — Norway Memorial Library and Roberts Farm Preserve present Tom Hoffelder to give a talk entitled All About Our Solar System- Especially Comets on Wednesday, February 8 at 7 p.m. at Norway Memorial Library, 258 Main St, Norway.

This talk is an introduction to a planned night sky observation event at Roberts Farm Preserve, 64 Roberts Rd in Norway, on Friday, February 10 at 6 p.m. (cloud date Saturday, February 11). The observation event will focus on the bright comet, C/2022 E3 (ZTF), currently visible in the night sky.

Tom is a retired aeronautical engineer. He is originally from Indiana but has lived in 8 states, with Maine being the last, final, and by far the best one. For the last 48 years, Tom has owned at least one telescope and as many as four. His main interest in astronomy now is sharing the wonders of the heavens with anyone who will take the chance of looking in the eyepiece. Tom’s other hobby is rock collecting; he is the President of the Oxford County Mineral and Gem Association, which has monthly meetings at the Maine Mineral and Gem Museum in Bethel, where he is a docent.

This event is free and open to the public. For more information about this talk, visit www.norwaymemoriallibrary.org. For more information about the night sky observation event at Roberts Farm Preserve, visit www.wfltmaine.org/roberts-farm.
