POLAND — Town Manager Matt Garside told selectpersons Tuesday evening that Regional School Unit 16 may seek approval for a bond to upgrade heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems in the elementary schools in Mechanic Falls, Minot and Poland.
In a related development, RSU 16 Superintendent Ken Healey sent an email to the three towns about a webinar that will address heating issues in the three schools. It is scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, for those interested in participating.
Tom Seekins of Energy Management Consultants will present findings from his analysis of the problems each school is facing and what improvements are needed.
Also at the board meeting, members voted to spend up to $27,405 from the American Rescue Plan Act for a new or used vehicle for the code enforcement officer.
They also held an executive session on contract negotiations with Garside.
