LOVELL — Voters will wade through 90 articles, including seven dealing with minor changes and tightening of its zoning ordinances, at Saturday’s annual Town Meeting.

The meeting is scheduled for 9 a.m. at the Town Hall.

Town Clerk Laura Williams said most of the changes in the zoning ordinances involve closing loopholes and other housekeeping issues to conform to changing state law. Fox example, the town’s marijuana ordinance is being amended to replace the word marijuana with cannabis. The update reflects changes to state law.

The town’s ordinance bans all marijuana and cannabis businesses in town.

Other zoning provisions being amended include ones dealing with piers, decks and wharfs and electric vehicle charging stations.

Residents will also vote on approving the municipal budget for the 2023 fiscal year, which is increasing by approximately $306,000 according to town officials. The budget is seeking to raise and appropriate $1.3 million from taxpayers.

Selectman Stephen Goldsmith is expected to seek another three-year term.

Voters will elect three directors to the Maine School Administrative District 72 board. The terms of Rose Micklon, Jane Williams and alternate Jean Woodward all expire this year.

Voters will also be choosing members for the Planning Board, the Budget Committee and other municipal staff.
