SOUTH PARIS — University of Maine Cooperative Extension Oxford County is set to hold a workshop on raising swine from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, March 27, at the UMaine Extension office, 9 Olson Road.

Dr. Colt Knight, UMaine Extension state livestock specialist, will present Swine 101, a two-hour primer on raising pastured pork.

Topics include breed selection, basic reproductive information, swine nutrition, fencing, housing and meat yield, according to a news release from Rebecca Long with the Oxford County office.

The sliding scale fee, $0-$10, includes a smoked pork lunch.
