NORWAY — A 3-T Auction, benefiting Papa’s Boots, is scheduled for Saturday, May 6, at the Norway Grange, 15 Whitman St.

The event will begin at 5 p.m. with a free homemade baked beans dinner. At 6 p.m. the 3-T auction will begin.

The 3-T stands for Talents — such as donating hours of yard, house work, musical offering, wrapping Christmas gifts, helping with wood, handmade work such as bird houses and stained glass — Treasures of items like household items, gifts, sports goods, and Treats like as carrot cake, rolls, Nisu, pies and fudge.

Papa’s Boots is in memory of Bruno Leino, who always said at Christmas as he looked at all the gifts under the Christmas tree, “Look at all these gifts, and there are children who have no winter boots,” according to a news release from A-J Alexander with the Grange.

Upon Leino’s death in 2011 his children and grandchildren started Papa’s Boots. Each year since, Papa’s Boots has given 100-plus pairs of new winter boots to area school children in need.

People can bring auction items the day of the event. Proceeds benefit the children of the Oxford Hills area.

The Norway Grange is accessible. For more information and to make a monitory donation, contact Alexander at 207-461-3093 or aaturnleft3@gmail.com.
