Portland police said the International Parkway, one of the main roads leading to the Portland International Jetport, has reopened following a one-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon that sent two people to the hospital.

The crash took place at about 1 p.m. after a vehicle left the roadway and hit a tree, Portland police told News Center Maine. The driver and a passenger were taken to a hospital for treatment.

Police said both lanes of the road had to be closed while they investigated, but it has since reopened.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
