Valerie C. Brule

AUBURN – Valerie C. Brule, 85, of Schooner Estates, passed away on Friday June 2, 2023, at the Androscoggin Hospice House of Auburn. She was born in Poland, Maine on Dec. 13, 1937, one of two children born to the late Myron L. and Cecile E. (Martin) Winslow.

Valerie was educated in Poland schools and graduated from Oxford Hills High School with the class of 1956. She has remained a lifelong resident of the Lewiston-Auburn community. On Sept. 1, 1956, she married Donald E. Brule at the Grace Lutheran Church of Lewiston and together they settled in Auburn to raise their family. Valerie was employed for many years at Falcon Shoe in Lewiston and in her later years at d’Youville Pavilion assisting the nursing staff.

She was a lady of strong faith and for many years was an active member of the East Auburn Baptist Church. Among her favorite enjoyments were spending time outside usually taking a long walk or spending time at the beach. She also enjoyed sewing and keeping busy maintaining her home. Valerie was a loving, devoted, and hardworking wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed.

She leaves behind her daughter Michelle Greenier and husband Jeff of Turner; as well as her grandchildren, Ryan Turcotte and wife Jessica, Joseph Turcotte and wife Anna, Stephen Turcotte and wife Jenny, Macey Berube, Meagan Berube; and 10 great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Donald Brule; her daughter Colleen (Turcotte) Greely, and brother Myron Winslow Jr.

The family would like to thank all the staff at CMHC (T1) as well as The Hospice House for the care and support they provided.

Visitation The Fortin Group / LEWISTON Wed. June 7 from 4 to 6 p.m. Graveside service Gracelawn Memorial Park Thurs. June 8 at 11 a.m.
