Brahim Díaz and Joselu scored for Madrid, which was coming off a 3-1 loss at city rival Atletico Madrid after opening the season with five straight league victories.

TRUCKS: Kyle Busch has sold his Truck Series team, his manufacturing business and all the Kyle Busch Motorsports assets to Spire Motorsports in a deal announced Wednesday.

KBM is one of the most successful truck organizations in NASCAR history and holds the series record for most wins overall (100) and most wins in a single season (14). Busch has won seven owner’s championships and a pair of driver championships, with Erik Jones in 2015 and Christopher Bell in 2017.

TORAY PAN PACIFIC OPEN: Top-seeded Iga Swiatek came back from a break down in both sets to beat Japanese qualifier Mai Hontama 6-4, 7-5 in the second round in Tokyo.

Second-seeded Jessica Pegula eased past Cristina Busca, 6-1, 6-2.

NINGBO OPEN: Top-seeded Ons Jabeur and second-seeded Petra Kvitova advanced to the quarterfinals in Ningbo, China.

Jabeur beat Tamara Korpatsch, 6-3, 6-2, while Kvitova advanced with a walkover after Yulia Putintseva withdrew.

2036 GAMES: Poland will tell the International Olympic Committee it wants to host the 2036 Summer Games, state president Andrzej Duda said.

Duda announced the government-backed project less than three weeks before parliamentary elections on Oct. 15.

The IOC has set no timetable for picking a host for the 2036 Olympics and seems unlikely to make much progress in the next two years. Thomas Bach’s 12-year presidential term limit expires in 2025, and the process of picking a 2036 host could be a key issue for his successor to oversee.
