Seven new  cottages have been added to the summer colony at Popham Beach this season – a good healthy growth.

50 Years Ago: 1973

The Lewiston-Auburn Area Chamber of Commerce has begun the installation of Christmas decorations on streets throughout the downtown shopping district. The plastic bells, along with the other tinseled glitter will not be lighted this year however, because of the energy crisis.

25 Years Ago: 1998

Young At Heart seniors and guests will hold a luncheon at 12:30 pm Friday. Dec. 4 at the Martindale Country Country Club. Audrey White will supervise the entertainment, following the meal. Those wishing to attend should call Naomi or George Barker for reservations at least a week before the luncheon.
