LEWISTON — Trinity Commons is set to host a public contradance at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 24, at 247 Bates St.
Ellen Hodgkin will be the caller for the evening, leading the dancers through some traditional figures to fiddle music.
From 7-8 p.m., the music will be provided by the All Comers Band, for which Greg Boardman will lead whoever volunteers to sit in on some of the easier tunes in the repertoire. All musicians are invited. The dancing will be particularly family friendly, according to a news release from Boardman.
From 8-10 p.m., Fiddler Greg Boardman and guitarist Aidan Boardman will provide the music for the more standard contradances, all taught and called by Hodgkins.
Children and students younger than 18 will be admitted free. For the rest there is a suggested admission price of $10, while any other amount will be accepted. Attendees are requested to wear soft-soled shoes.
