Lewiston’s Best Day Ever is part of a collective of events taking place across the country to generate 100,000 acts of kindness for the Best Day Ever event. This is the first-time community banks and credit unions have come together for a nationwide event, demonstrating their local impact and the scale of their network.

Community Credit Union, in partnership with Kasasa and the Dream Machine, is hosting event on Friday, Nov. 3, in response to the recent tragic events in Lewiston, and as part of the Best Day Ever, Community Credit Union will be passing out support cards to random strangers that say “In dark times, love shines brightest. Keep shining! Lewiston Strong” as well as passing out remembrance bows. Kasasa will also be donating $3,000 to the Maine Credit Unions Campaign for Ending Hunger.

There also will be an event Love Lewiston Day from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 3, to further bring the community together to love one another and remember those lost on Oct. 25 at Tree Street Youth.

“We are excited to be a part of the Best Day Ever to demonstrate how we make a difference in our communities,” said Betsy Sibley, Chief Marketing Officer, Community Credit Union.

“A random act of kindness changed my life when I was in a dark moment and diagnosed with a brain tumor,” said Rocket. “That’s when I learned the power of something so simple: being seen by a stranger. I’m excited for Nov. 3rd because when community financial institutions kick off this event, it will have a ripple effect across the country.”
