The Dam Jam Revival is back with more family fun than ever. Featuring Dave Gutter Band and Dominic Lavoie Band with special guest Oystahguy the outdoor festival will run from 3-8:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 18, at the Denmark Arts Center.

The event will feature kid’s art, stilt-walkers, traditional craft artisans, and good music — as always. There will also be a selection of food trucks.

Our headliner is Dave Gutter, Maine’s Grammy winner for Best American Roots Performance for the song “Stompin Ground,” which he wrote with Eric Krasno of the bands Soulive and Lettuce. Gutter is also a longtime Maine musician and frontman for Rustic Overtones, a rock, soul and funk band, Paranoid Social Club, and Armies. Gutter has written songs with David Bowie, Imogen Heap, Gramatik, Aaron Neville, The Roots, Spose, and Tedeschi Trucks Band and has had his works licensed by Netflix, Ubisoft, Hulu, Amazon, HBO, Warner, Fox, NBC and ABC. Gutter is also a horror afficionado and a host of the “Speak All Evil” podcast, digging deep into horror films.

Dominic Lavoie is a singer-songwriter, musician and producer who uses music to stay as true to himself and the creative spirit as possible. Ethereal dreams to jarringly clear human experiences dance in his songs: and become real both on stage and through his albums. He’s shared the stage with Rayland Baxter, Los Lobos, Dr Dog and Guster. Lavoie is as comfortable on stage as he is in the studio, having released seven full lengths, two EPs and a self-directed music film. He has co-written with rapper Spose and collaborated with producer Steve Berlin (Los Lobos, Deer Tick) on his own 2020 release “Wave With a Broken Arm.” Lavoie’s 2022 release “FLUX” is a collection of songs written during the pandemic, recorded to a 16-track reel-to-reel tape machine and mixed in isolation.

Jack Gentempo knits together performances with his original Vaudeville skits that keep you rolling with laughter. The kids area include the Fantabulous ArtVan – keeping the arts rolling and Neveah Dance Circus with hula-hoop jam, face-painting, and roaming artists. Kids can design their own tee-shirts, make spin art, make their own buttons, and a chance to make their own instrument to join in with the music. Traditional crafts will be onsite with guitar-making with luthier Alex Edney, and Tear Cap Workshops Wood products and Pickett Hill Pottery.

Tickets are $25. Kids 12 and under are free accompanied by an adult. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit denmarkarts.org/events.
