100 Years Ago: 1924
A happy affair indeed was the sleigh party of the Triangle Club on Wednesday evening.
The party included: Mary Ingraham, Ruth Strout, Glenna Haskell, Imogene Chick, Bernice Chick, Alice Jeffries, Mrs. R.P. Parker, Mrs. Allen, Mrs. Grace Wing, Mrs. F.W. Quimby, Mrs. Laura Crocker, Mrs. Ida Greene, Mrs. John Sturgis, Miss Lucy Titcomb.
After the ride, an oyster supper was served at the club rooms on Main Street in Auburn.
50 Years Ago: 1974
Dinner and a business session will take place Thursday evening for the Androscoggin Valley Art Association at 7 o’clock. Merwin Kelley is in charge of reservations and guests may be invited to attend.
A special prize of art work will be awarded and two sound films, “Winslow Homer in Maine” and “Painting and Drawing” will be shown.
25 Years Ago: 1999
“From Performance Artists to Donut Makers to Hip Hop,” a group show of recent photography and nonfiction writing by fall, 1998. Salt students will be featured through Feb, 22 at Salt, Inc., at 17 Pine St. in Portland.
