PALMYRA — Bowman Constructors, Hometown Health Center and Harriman announce their collaboration on a new health care facility at 55 Fletcher Drive.

The groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m. July 23.

This region, like many rural and underserved areas across the country, faces unique health care challenges, including limited access to medical services, disparities in health outcomes, and barriers to affordable care. As a federally qualified health center, Hometown Health Center is uniquely positioned to address these challenges with this new multifaceted health care campus, according to a news release.

The facility will offer integrated clinical services, social engagement programs and a comprehensive wellness area. The center will include provisions for day care services, providing support for families and facilitating employment opportunities. Amenities will include a state-of-the-art teaching kitchen, a community garden, a food bank and programs including yoga, racquetball, basketball, physical therapy, weight training, a walking track and gym equipment and a Recovery Center for those battling addiction.

Bowman Constructors will serve as the lead contractor for the project. Harriman is the project architect.

Hometown Health Center offers medical services, including dental services, behavioral health services, a sliding-fee scale for payment that is based on what the patient can afford and several prescription assistance programs, according to the release.
