The three finalists for the Evans Spear Award were announced Monday, and Will Keach of Poland/Leavitt/Oak Hill/Gray-New Gloucester is among the trio still in the running for the honor.
The forward from Leavitt Area High School would be the first player from any of the cooperative program’s four schools to win the award, which is presented to most outstanding Class B South senior player by the Class B South Hockey Coaches Association.
The other finalists are Greely forward Charlie Moore and Cheverus/Yarmouth defenseman David Swift.
Keach led the B South runner-up Kings in scoring the past two seasons. This year, he also paced Class B South with 23 goals and 25 assists for a total of 48 points.
The winner of the award will be announced at the Class B South Awards Banquet at Keeley the Katerer in Portland on Sunday, March 24.
