DEAR SUN SPOTS: St. Mary’s Health System in Lewiston is recruiting adult volunteers. Please consider joining the St. Mary’s team of volunteers and have a positive impact on delivering quality patient care every day.

The system needs individuals who like to be around people, enjoy helping others, and have a desire to give back to our community.

Opportunities include greeting and providing information to patients and visitors; transporting patients, including some by wheelchair; helping to deliver patient flowers; completing errands throughout the facility; assisting with patient and resident activities; delivering mail; and assisting with special projects.

By committing a few hours a week, volunteers can have a major impact on patients and others at St. Mary’s. No background in health care is necessary.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: The 2nd Chance Uke Band will be in concert at the United Methodist Church in Auburn at 439 Park Ave. on June 1 at 7 p.m.

Band members will perform with ukuleles, percussion, a banjolele, a harmonica, and bass, along with vocals. Their music covers classic country, light rock, pop, swing, and blues, and appeals to all ages. Everyone smiles when the ukuleles play! Suggested donation is $10 for adults.
