Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School football coach Mark Soehren announced his resignation Tuesday.

Soehren, who is also a teacher at the school, made the announcement on both Instagram and X.

“With all my children graduating from high school, and some of them competing in college athletics, it is time to prioritize family time and travel with my wife,” Soehren wrote in his social media post.

Soehren led the Vikings for 12 years and accumulated a record of 59-47. The highlight of Soehren’s tenure came in 2022 when Oxford Hills won its first state championship with a win over Thornton Academy in the Class A state final. The Vikings went 11-0 that season.

Oxford Hills went 8-3 in 2023, losing to Portland in the Class A North final.
