The work of local photographer Bonita Boothby will be on display for the month of June in the The Woman’s Hospital Association Rotating Art Gallery at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.
Boothby is a self-taught Maine photographer who started taking photos of her parents’ flower gardens in Livermore when she was in high school with her first 35MM Canon camera. She enjoys all the captivating sights the outdoors has to offer whether it be an incoming storm, a visiting bird, a flower in bloom or raindrops on grass. One of her favorite activities is wandering around gardens, woodland and coastal areas capturing moments of inspiration from a distance or close up.
“Nature and the outdoors fill me with wonder and photographing it is my passion. Inspiration for my work comes from the details and moments of everyday life whether it’s the colors of new blooms in the garden, the shadows of the forest or the filtered light of sparkling water.”
The works on display may be purchased through the WHA Gift Shop located adjacent to the main lobby at Central Maine Medical Center. A percentage of sale proceeds benefits patients of CMMC.
