MINOT — Newly appointed full-time Fire Rescue Chief Jeff Burt told the Select Board on Monday night that he is preparing a preventive maintenance schedule on all department vehicles and apparatus.

Burt said the department purchased a dependable used refilling system for the air bottles so the department would not need to go to Auburn or Mechanic Falls to have them refilled.

Updated training requirements for all fire and EMT personnel is also a priority, he said.

Town Administrator Danielle Loring said the town received a $30,000 grant from the Maine Department of Transportation for engineering costs for rural roads and a bridge job. The Bucknam Bridge Road is one project the town will look at, she said.
