MECHANIC FALLS — Voters on Tuesday passed all spending articles for the $3.59 million municipal budget.
However, one article that authorizes the town to increase the property tax levy limit if the budget results in a tax commitment that is greater than the property tax levy failed by 3 votes, 158-161.
Town Councilor Darrell Young was reelected with 249 votes and Walter Berry, a member of the Budget Committee, was elected to the council with 239 votes.
Patrick Irish, who faced no opposition, was reelected to the Regional School Unit 16 board of directors with 288 votes.
Elected to the Sanitary District were Anthony Emery with 261 votes and Mark Gary with 245.
All results are unofficial until certified by the municipal clerk.
