BETHEL — We are happy to announce that this July we will have the 9th year of our free children’s summer program, “Mornings at the Museum”. As in the past, the program is held on Thursdays in July (July 11,18, and 25 this year) from 9:30-11:30 a.m., on the grounds of the Museums of the Bethel Historical Society and is open to all children ages 5-10.

This year’s theme is “Waters of Maine” and many of our activities will incorporate this under the leadership of our local Student Docents and adult volunteers. We will have outdoor live music and games, age-appropriate Museum and house tours, sidewalk chalk drawing, historical clothing exhibit with “try on” replicas, garden watering from our well, practice in old-time log rolling, water theme arts and crafts. Some activities will be constant, others will rotate, and some may be added.

Additionally, children may come to all three sessions, or as they can. Pre-registration is not necessary, but if you let us know, it would help. Plus, if your child has special needs, we will do our best to accommodate them. Finally, all children will need to be accompanied by an adult, so come and participate, or simply bring a chair and sit and watch and smile. We hope to see you in July.
