Erin Perkins, a self-taught artist and Maine native, welcomes you to experience a voyage back home during the artist reception for the opening of her exhibition “You CAN Get There from Here” from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, at the Denmark Arts Center, 50 West Main St. in Denmark.
The exhibit will be on view through July 21.
Spoken by the carving of colors into shapes, telling an entire tale of detailed, brief and scenic short stories. Including all the rocky roads, sun rays, storms, and beautiful sunsets involved along the way. Perkins chose to go with this semi-loose theme because when painting anything the majority of her ideas come from her views and experiences around this state. Some are emotions she had while away, wanting to be back home, some during experiences trying to get back home, and some since she has made it back.
Refreshments will be served at the free event.
