To the Editor:
Saturday, July 6, the Shy, Novice & Closeted Art Show will celebrate its 20th year.
The Shy, Novice & Closeted Art Show (SN&C) provides the opportunity and encouragement for
anyone who considers themself to be shy, or novice, or closeted when it comes to making art
and showing their artwork. Over the past years folks from Bethel and all surrounding
communities have participated with their art made from all mediums, with all levels of ability,
from folks of all ages.
Some SN&C artists are so shy you never see the whites of their eyes. Others show the one and
only piece they’ve ever made. Some artists literally have a closet full of art rarely, if ever, seen
by anyone else. To participate you need only consider yourself to be a shy, or novice and/or
closeted artist.
For information on how to participate contact Janet at 207-824-3889 or go to
https://www.facebook.com/shyartshow.
The 20th Annual SN&C show runs Saturday, July 6, Rain or shine, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at
18 High St, directly behind the Gemini Bakery, formerly Key Bank. The Friday Night Artisan’s
Soiree takes place July 5 at 7 p.m.
SN&C artists of past and present, friends & family celebrate whatever hurdle you may have taken to show and share your art. Musicians Davy Sturtevant and Tom Zicarelli will provide the music, and Bethel Provision’s Bakery will bring their artistic flair to the cake.
Other art celebrations about town on that date include:
