A motorcyclist received life-threatening injuries Monday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash on Meadow Road in Casco, the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office said.
Nicholas Murdock, 35, was heading east riding a 2014 Harley Davidson around 4:30 p.m. when he failed to navigate a corner near 696 Meadow Road and struck a mailbox and then a guardrail, the sheriff’s office said in a statement.
Murdock was transported to Maine Medical Center in Portland via LifeFlight of Maine. Meadow Road was closed to traffic for some time after the crash. The statement didn’t identify Murdock’s hometown.
Deputies said high speed was a factor in the crash. Murdock was wearing a helmet, they said.
Murdock’s condition was not available late Monday night.
