July 6 | Scenic 7 Hike at Poplar Stream Falls at 9 AM

Join HPA and Rebecca Goldfine, of Maine By Foot, at Poplar Stream Falls is a relatively accessible hike for this area, offering remote-feeling wilderness and two of the most striking waterfalls in the High Peaks region. The trail ascends along the east side of Poplar Stream. We’ll meet at the Maine Huts & Trails Airport Trailhead.

August 3 | Scenic 7 Hike at Blueberry Mountain at 9 AM

This moderate-sized peak is located northwest of Weld and just east of Jackson Mountain. Blueberry Mountain provides excellent views in all directions from its rocky 2,962-foot summit. We’ll meet at the trailhead, located on the road to Blueberry Mountain Bible Camp. The road has a sign for the camp where it leaves the west side of Highway 142 in Weld.

August 16 | Phillips Old Home Days Parade at 5 PM

Join us at the Phillips Old Home Days and be part of the excitement! HPA’s staff and Directors will have a float in the Phillips Old Home Day’s Parade. It’s always a fantastic event! Make sure to arrive early, bring your camp chairs, and snacks, and get ready to enjoy the show!

August 24 | Fly Rod Crosby Trail Clean-Up Day from 9 AM – 2 PM

Join us for a clean-up day on the Fly Rod Crosby Trail. Recreation Ranger, Matt Kusper will lead volunteers to complete a few projects. Volunteers should dress for the weather, and wear sturdy, close-toed footwear, and long pants. Tools will be provided, and we will have extra work gloves handy.

September 7 | Scenic 7 Hike at Perham Stream Birding Trail at 9 AM

Join us and Pete McKinley, birder, at the historic Perham Stream settlement in East Madrid. It offers rare south-lying foothills views to Saddleback and Mt. Abraham Ranges and late fall-winter views west to Jackson Range. We’ll meet at the trailhead located at 553 East Madrid Road.

September 19 | Grill & Chill: A Thank You BBQ from 4 PM – 8 PM

We’re inviting all our communities, our members, and partners to come together for an evening of delicious food, great music, and wonderful company. October 5 | Scenic 7 Hike at Forest Legacy at 9

Join us and Maine Registered Guide, Sam Shirley, at Forest Legacy! On the west shores of Cupsuptic and Mooselookmeguntic Lakes, the Forest Legacy Conservation Area contains roughly 9 miles of lightly used trails. Many loops can be made here, and hikes range from easy to advanced, depending on the route taken. We’ll meet at the trailhead, located at the end of Mud Pond Road, roughly a half mile from Highway 16. Mud Pond Road is on the south side of Highway 16, 9.1 miles west of Oquossoc.
