The Christopher Branch Scholarship Committee plans to host its second annual scholarship golf tournament at Toddy Brook Golf Course in North Yarmouth.
The tournament is set for Monday, Aug. 19, at Toddy Brook Golf Course on Sligo Road, off Route 9 in North Yarmouth.
Branch served as public works director for Lewiston and Portland, as well as a civil engineer for Sebago Technics. He swam for Edward Little High School and then coached and served as a swim official throughout Maine for the rest of his life, according to a news release from the scholarship committee.
Registration and breakfast begins at 7:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. There will be prizes for first and second low gross/low net, closest to the pin, long drive and a putting contest, with a buffet and awards ceremony immediately following the tournament.
Team registrations cost $500 a foursome before Monday, July 15, and $540 after July 15. Individual registrations cost $125 a player before July 15 and $135 after July 15.
Included with registrations are golf carts, greens fees, mulligans, breakfast, snacks, a sleeve of golf balls and lunch. Team and individual registrations are being accepted at the Maine Swim Officials Association website, mesoa.org. The committee also welcomes sponsorships and donations from individuals and businesses who wish to contribute to the scholarship fund.
Past scholarship recipients are Anne Roach, Old Town High School; Abigail Cormier, Bonney Eagle High School; and Gavin Holbrook, Leavitt Area High School.
