NAPLES — Experience the beautiful western Maine Lakes Region. Tour beautiful and historic homes and inns. Have lunch at one of our local restaurants and take a cruise on the Songo River Queen. The Naples Public Library has announced the details of their highly anticipated House and Inn Tour to take place on July
24 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This is a fundraiser to benefit the library. Proceeds from this fundraiser will support the many programs the Naples Public Library provides for the community throughout the year.
The library is a central hotspot for visitors to Naples. Besides the large book collection, the Library offers many programs for all ages, as well as passes to Maine Wildlife Park, Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, and Maine State Parks.
This self-guided house and Inn tour will begin at the library at 940 Roosevelt Trail at 9 a.m., where you will get your brochure/ticket to the event and directions to the many homes and inns you will visit throughout the day. The cost is $30. With this self-guided tour, you can plan your day as you would like. Locations will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Your travels will bring you from Naples to Sebago, Bridgton, Harrison, and Waterford. Along the way, you will see beautiful lakes and ponds, including Long Lake, Brandy Pond, Trickey Pond, Sebago Lake, Highland Lake, and Bear Pond.
The Library has partnered with Ryan Carvalho, owner of the Songo River Queen II to offer you a cruise on any of their public cruises on that day or the following day, July 25. Show your House and Inn Tour Brochure for a free cruise on the Songo Queen 2.
Jane Freedman, Library Board Vice president says “We expect this to be a fun and exciting day for all. Many thanks to the library staff, the Board of Trustees, and all the volunteers who have worked on this project. Also, thanks to all the local businesses who have supported this fundraising project.”
