“Waterford World’s Fair has stood the test of time and for good reason.”

WATERFORD — From Fort Kent to Kittery, summer fairs and festivals are as beloved a part of the fabric of Maine as lobster and blueberries. Norway Savings Bank has long supported many of these celebrations around the state, including one of the longest-running summer events in western Maine set for late July.

NSB is pleased to contribute $1,000 to the Waterford World’s Fair (July 19-21). The event originated in 1852 as the “North Waterford Fair” but remains dedicated to preserving the rural heritage of the area through the showcasing of the beauty and importance of agriculture, horticulture, and mechanical arts. It also features a kids’ zone, food competitions, and live entertainment.

“We have another great lineup of top regional music acts who all appear on the Norway Savings Bank Stage!” said Lisa Fox, President of the Waterford World’s Fair Association. “It’s so great to see our fair going strong thanks to hard work, enthusiastic volunteers, and amazing sponsors like Norway Savings. We greatly appreciate the support as our little fair evolves on an upward path as a family-friendly, educational, demonstrational, and entertaining experience.”

“Waterford World’s Fair has stood the test of time and for good reason. It celebrates what’s best about rural life, provides smiles to visitors from children to seniors, and displays a volunteer spirit intrinsic to strong communities,” said Dan Walsh, President and CEO of Norway Savings. “We’re happy to support the special moments, unforgettable scenes, and camaraderie that this event provides.”
